Ahsas Disabled People Organization (Ahsas DPO) provides immediate and life-saving assistance to individuals and families affected by natural disasters, crises, and humanitarian emergencies. From floods and earthquakes to severe weather, displacement, and other emergencies, our response efforts focus on reaching vulnerable communities quickly and providing the basic support they need to cope with difficult circumstances.
Reaching the Most Vulnerable
Our emergency relief efforts give particular attention to persons with disabilities, widows, children, older people, and low-income families who may face additional challenges during a crisis. For people living with disabilities, displacement or loss of basic services can create significant barriers to safety, mobility, healthcare, food, and shelter.
Ahsas works through community-level networks, local coordination, field assessments, and trained volunteers to identify urgent needs and deliver assistance where it is most needed. Depending on the nature and scale of an emergency, support may include food packages, clean water, clothing, temporary shelter materials, medical assistance, assistive devices, and other essential supplies.
Our approach is community-focused and needs-based. Before assistance is provided, Ahsas seeks to understand the circumstances of affected families and prioritize those facing the greatest level of vulnerability. This helps ensure that available resources are directed toward people who need them most and that emergency assistance reaches communities in a timely and responsible manner.
