Ahsas Leaders Academy – Building a Future for Vulnerable Children

Ahsas Leaders Academy is a long-term humanitarian and educational initiative of Ahsas Disabled People Organization (ADPO), established to provide orphaned and vulnerable children with a safe home, quality education, rehabilitation, skills development and the opportunity to build independent and meaningful lives. The vision is to create an inclusive environment where children can receive education, care and personal development under one integrated campus, with particular attention to children living with disabilities and those facing difficult social and economic circumstances.

Ahsas Disabled People Organization has already secured 3 kanal of land for the development of Ahsas Leaders Academy. This land provides the foundation for a larger educational and residential campus. A significant first step has already been completed: a mosque has been constructed on 1 kanal of the available land, and the existing facility is already serving approximately 70 children who are living and receiving support there. This existing work demonstrates that the Academy is not simply a future concept; a functioning community and a foundation for the larger vision are already in place.

However, the original vision for Ahsas Leaders Academy is much larger than the existing facility. The remaining land and development area need substantial construction and infrastructure to establish the complete Academy. The planned campus will bring together formal education, technical and vocational education, residential facilities and a rehabilitation center, creating an integrated environment where vulnerable children can learn, live, develop practical skills and receive the support they need.

The formal education component will provide children with access to quality academic learning in a safe and supportive environment. Alongside mainstream education, the Academy will introduce technical and vocational education to help young people develop practical skills that can contribute to future employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance. The aim is not only to provide children with a place to study, but to prepare them with knowledge and skills that can help them build sustainable futures.

A dedicated rehabilitation center is also planned as an important part of the Academy. Children with physical disabilities and other rehabilitation needs will be able to receive appropriate support and participate more fully in education and community life. Accessibility will be incorporated into the planned infrastructure so that children with disabilities can learn, move and participate alongside other children in an inclusive environment.

The residential component will provide children with a secure and caring place to live. The planned facilities will include accommodation, nutrition, healthcare support, counseling, life-skills development, recreational activities, sports, Islamic learning, technology exposure and character-building. Through this integrated approach, the Academy aims to support the whole development of a child—education, skills, wellbeing, confidence and social responsibility.

The Academy will also carry the memory and values of Waheed Ahmad (1978–1992), whose life continues to inspire the mission of service, compassion and care for others. His memory represents an important part of the Academy’s identity and its commitment to creating opportunities for children who may otherwise have limited access to education and a secure future.

A Project Ready for Partnership

The ground survey for the planned development has already been completed, and Ahsas DPO is now working to move towards the next stage: construction and development of the remaining Academy facilities. The land is available, the existing mosque and residential support are already in place, and the broader development plan provides a clear direction for the future campus.

We are therefore reaching out to international NGOs, charitable foundations, institutional donors, corporate partners, philanthropists and development organizations who may wish to become part of this long-term initiative. Partners can support the construction of educational facilities, residential accommodation, rehabilitation services, technical training facilities, accessibility infrastructure, classrooms, healthcare facilities, sports and recreational areas and other essential components of the Academy.
