Disability rights protection

The Ahsas Access to Justice Program is a legal support and rights protection initiative of Ahsas Disabled People Organization (Ahsas DPO), established to help persons with disabilities overcome legal barriers and obtain equal access to justice. Many people with disabilities are deprived of their inheritance, face illegal occupation of their property, experience domestic violence, workplace discrimination, denial of education, difficulties obtaining disability certificates and identity documents, or encounter obstacles when accessing police, courts, and government institutions. Due to limited legal awareness, many are unable to claim the rights guaranteed to them by law.

Through this program, Ahsas DPO provides legal awareness, free legal consultation, case assessment, guidance, mediation, advocacy, and, where possible, legal representation and lawyer support. The program also works with police, government departments, and other stakeholders to promote the protection of disability rights and improve access to justice. At present, this service is available for persons with disabilities in District Mansehra, with a long-term vision to expand across Pakistan. An online contact and complaint system is currently under development and will be launched soon to make legal assistance more accessible to those in need.

احساس ایکسیس ٹو جسٹس پروگرام، احساس ڈس ایبلڈ پیپل آرگنائزیشن کا ایک قانونی معاونت اور حقوق کے تحفظ کا پروگرام ہے، جس کا مقصد معذور افراد کو قانونی رکاوٹوں سے نکال کر انہیں انصاف تک مساوی رسائی فراہم کرنا ہے۔ بہت سے معذور افراد وراثت میں اپنے حق سے محروم رہ جاتے ہیں، ان کی جائیداد پر ناجائز قبضہ ہو جاتا ہے، انہیں گھریلو تشدد، ملازمت میں امتیازی سلوک، تعلیم سے محرومی، معذوری سرٹیفکیٹ یا شناختی دستاویزات کے مسائل، پولیس میں ایف آئی آر درج کروانے، عدالتوں اور سرکاری اداروں تک رسائی میں مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ قانونی آگاہی کی کمی کی وجہ سے وہ اکثر اپنے آئینی اور قانونی حقوق استعمال نہیں کر پاتے۔

اس پروگرام کے ذریعے احساس ڈس ایبلڈ پیپل آرگنائزیشن قانونی آگاہی، مفت قانونی مشاورت، کیس کی جانچ، رہنمائی، ثالثی، حقوق کے تحفظ کے لیے وکالت، اور جہاں ممکن ہو وکیل کی فراہمی اور عدالت میں قانونی نمائندگی فراہم کرتی ہے۔ پروگرام پولیس، سرکاری اداروں اور دیگر متعلقہ فریقوں کے ساتھ رابطہ اور تعاون کے ذریعے معذور افراد کے حقوق کے تحفظ اور انصاف تک رسائی کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے بھی کام کرتا ہے۔ فی الحال یہ پروگرام صرف ضلع مانسہرہ کے معذور افراد کے لیے دستیاب ہے، جبکہ مستقبل میں اسے مرحلہ وار پورے پاکستان تک توسیع دینے کا منصوبہ ہے۔ مزید سہولت کے لیے آن لائن رابطہ اور شکایات کا نظام بھی تیار کیا جا رہا ہے، جو جلد ہی دستیاب ہوگا تاکہ ضرورت مند افراد آسانی سے قانونی معاونت حاصل کر سکیں

Ahsas Disabled People Organization runs permanent annual projects to support those in need. These include Ramzan Food Packs, Daily Iftar, Eid Gifts, Assistive Devices, the Qurbani Project, and Winter Packs, providing essential help and spreading joy every year.
