Ahsas Disabled People Organization, in collaboration with Hazara University, envisions a strategic partnership to promote sustainable tourism development in Hazara Division.
This initiative aims to connect academic knowledge with community-based development, ensuring that tourism growth in the region is environmentally responsible, socially inclusive, and economically beneficial for local communities, including persons with disabilities, women, and youth.
Key Focus Areas
1. Sustainable Eco-Tourism Development
Promoting responsible tourism practices in Mansehra, Balakot, Kaghan Valley, and surrounding areas by protecting natural resources and cultural heritage.
2. Community Participation & Local Employment
Engaging local communities in tourism services such as guiding, homestays, transport support, and handicrafts to create livelihood opportunities.
3. Inclusive Tourism (Disability-Friendly Access)
Ensuring that tourism sites gradually become accessible for persons with disabilities, aligning with the principle that mobility and access is a fundamental right.
4. Youth Training & Capacity Building
Joint training programs between Ahsas and Hazara University on hospitality, tourism management, environmental protection, and community leadership.
5. Research & Policy Development
Hazara University students and faculty to conduct research on tourism impact, climate sensitivity, and sustainable planning models for the region.
6. Cultural Preservation
Documentation and promotion of local traditions, languages, music, and heritage of Hazara Division.
